Did you know that pregnant women have been fired for using the bathroom to vomit, needing to carry a water bottle on the job, or asking to sit on a stool instead of standing in place all day? While employers have to make allowances like these for other types of temporary disabilities, a number of bad court decisions have encouraged them to feel they can get away with firing or mistreating pregnant workers with impunity.
It’s disgraceful and unacceptable that at a time when unnecessary budget cuts are decimating food, medical, and educational supports for low-income families, pregnant women continue to be pushed out of their jobs just as they take on all the expenses of having a new baby.

and take action by contacting your congressperson. This is unacceptable. Pregnant workers need more protection. With a child coming up they need employment more than ever. Please contact your rep.

I realize you’re hurt by the ignorant words of “white people” who don’t know what they’re talking about, and I’m sorry.
But I have a question for you. In this “land of the free”…aren’t you free? What are their words doing to…
The Navy wants to conduct training and testing with sonar and explosives that could kill 1,000 whales. (13835 signatures on petition)===
Hopefully, if we can stop the Navy from testing its weaponry on whales, we can stop them from using that weaponry on humans, too.

So can we talk about how Finding Nemo had not one, but three major characters with disabilities? And how all of those characters (Nemo, Dory, and Gill) were fully fledged characters? And how a core message of the movie was that…

White Men, Everyone Else: Gender and Ethnic Diversity on Cable News
Media Matters spent the month of April reviewing evening guests on cable news. The results, unfortunately, don’t surprise: CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC “overwhelmingly host male and white guests.”
Read through for the details as the watchdog group breaks down the numbers for each network. We learn, for instance, that “Out of 1,677 total guests, CNN had the largest proportion of men — 76 percent — during the month of April;” and “Fox News had the largest proportion of white guests — 83 percent.”
Hat tip to Chris Hayes, whose show is the most diverse in cable evening news. And getting there isn’t very difficult. “We just would look at the board and say, ‘We already have too many white men. We can’t have more,’” Hayes told Ann Friedman at the Columbia Journalism Review back in March. “Really, that was it.”

and at the end of the day, native people and other genders still don’t exist.
Hitting the bullshit nail right on its head.
Feminists don’t hate men, we hate the bullshit power structure that exists that allows men to take advantage of women rather than dealing with their emotions.
